Getting Started

General Moving Questions

The basics on who we are, where we move, and how the process works.

Quick Ship Van Lines is a licensed, insured nationwide moving broker. We don’t operate the trucks ourselves — instead, we coordinate your move with carefully selected, federally licensed and insured carriers from our vetted network, and a dedicated coordinator manages everything from quote to delivery. Our USDOT number is 4279993 and our MC number is 1663597.

We coordinate residential and commercial relocations across all 50 states. Whether you’re moving across the state line or coast to coast, we can match you with a carrier for your route.

Yes. Quick Ship Van Lines is federally licensed (USDOT 4279993 · MC 1663597), and every carrier in our network is federally licensed, fully insured, and vetted before they handle your belongings.

Request a free quote through our online form or by phone at (833) 627-1754. Most quote requests get a response within 30–60 minutes. There’s no obligation and no cost to get an estimate.

Estimates are based on the cubic footage your inventory takes up on the truck, plus distance and any additional services. We review it with you line by line before you commit, so the price you’re quoted is the price you pay — no hidden fees.

Three simple steps: (1) request a free quote with your move details; (2) we match you with a licensed, insured carrier that fits your route, timeline, and budget; (3) your dedicated coordinator handles the logistics while your belongings are picked up, transported, and delivered on schedule.

Yes. You get one dedicated relocation coordinator from quote through delivery — no call centers and no being transferred. One person handles everything and keeps you updated along the way.

Your coordinator stays in contact from pickup to delivery and can give you a status update at any point during your delivery window, so you always know where your belongings are.

Cross-Country

Long Distance Moving FAQs

Door-to-door relocations across all 50 states.

Generally, any move of roughly 400 miles or more, or one that crosses state lines. Our long distance service covers cross-country relocations across all 50 states with licensed carriers who specialize in long-haul moves.

Transit time depends on distance and routing — shorter long-distance lanes often run about 7–10 days, while coast-to-coast moves can take 10–14 days. Your coordinator gives you a realistic delivery window before the truck leaves, based on your specific route.

Long distance estimates are based on the cubic footage of your inventory, the distance of your route, and any add-on services like packing, storage, or specialty-item handling. You get a clear, upfront estimate before booking.

On long distance moves, belongings are often consolidated with other shipments heading the same direction, which keeps pricing efficient. Every item is inventoried, padded, and tracked. Dedicated-truck options may be available if you need a tighter delivery window — ask your coordinator.

Booking 3–4 weeks ahead is recommended, especially during peak summer months (roughly May–September) when carrier availability tightens. Earlier booking gives you more flexibility with pickup and delivery dates.

State to State

Interstate Moving FAQs

State-to-state moves with full federal DOT compliance.

“Long distance” refers to the mileage of the move, while “interstate” specifically means crossing a state line. Interstate moves come with federal regulations, permits, and licensing requirements — we manage all of it so your move stays compliant.

Yes. Interstate carriers must be licensed under federal DOT (FMCSA) requirements. Every carrier we coordinate with is fully licensed and insured under those rules, so your move is compliant and protected across state lines.

Yes. Our team manages permits, regulations, insurance verification, and multi-state coordination so you don’t have to navigate the paperwork. Your coordinator keeps the move on schedule from origin to destination.

You, or an authorized adult representative, should be present at both pickup and delivery to confirm the inventory, sign paperwork, and direct placement of your items. Your coordinator will confirm timing windows in advance.

You’ll receive an order for service, a bill of lading (your contract with the carrier), and an inventory list. Your coordinator walks you through each document so you know exactly what you’re signing.

Homes & Apartments

Residential Moving FAQs

Apartments, houses, and condos — from studio walk-ups to 5-bedroom estates.

Everything from studio apartments and condos to large single-family homes up to 5 bedrooms and beyond. We match you with carriers experienced in residential relocations and careful handling of furniture, appliances, and personal belongings.

Yes. Full and partial packing are available, along with packing supplies. You can have the team pack your entire home, just the fragile and high-value items, or handle the boxing yourself — whatever fits your budget and timeline.

Yes. Crews disassemble large furniture for safe transport and reassemble it at your destination, placing items in the right rooms according to your labeling.

Yes. Pianos, pool tables, antiques, artwork, and gun safes are handled by crews experienced with them, and custom crating is available for fragile or high-value pieces. Flag any specialty items when you request your quote so the right equipment and team are scheduled.

Yes. Many buildings require a certificate of insurance (COI) and a reserved freight elevator or loading dock before move day. Let your coordinator know the building details and we’ll arrange the paperwork and elevator window in advance.

Office & Business

Commercial Moving FAQs

Office and business relocations coordinated to minimize downtime.

Yes. We coordinate office relocations, retail moves, and commercial equipment transport — from individual offices to entire floors — with carriers experienced in business moves.

Yes. Commercial moves can be scheduled after hours or on weekends so your business keeps running. Your coordinator plans the move around your operating hours to minimize disruption.

Yes. We coordinate the moving of desks, workstations, IT and office equipment, and full office furnishings, including disassembly and reassembly where needed.

Yes. Commercial and high-rise buildings often require a certificate of insurance (COI) on file before move day. Let your coordinator know the building’s requirements and we’ll have it arranged ahead of time.

Cost & Estimates

Pricing, Quotes & Payment FAQs

How estimates are built, what’s included, and what can change the price.

Yes. Quotes are 100% free with no obligation. You provide your move details, we give you an estimate, and you decide whether to move forward — no pressure.

Your estimate covers loading, transportation, and unloading based on your inventory and route. Additional services such as full packing, storage, or specialty-item crating are quoted transparently so you can see exactly what you’re paying for.

The main factors are changes to your inventory (adding or removing items), access details at either address (stairs, long carries, shuttle needs), and any services added before pickup. If anything changes, your coordinator explains why before it affects your price.

No. The price we quote is the price you pay — no surprise charges, last-minute add-ons, or fine print. Estimates are reviewed line by line before you commit.

Deposit and payment terms are confirmed by your coordinator at booking and outlined in your paperwork before you commit. If you have questions about accepted payment methods or timing, just ask — we keep it transparent.

Protection & Claims

Insurance, Coverage & Claims FAQs

How your belongings are protected in transit.

Yes. Every carrier we coordinate with is fully insured. By federal rule, interstate moves include basic Released Value Protection at no additional cost, and upgraded Full Value Protection is available for purchase.

Released Value Protection is included at no charge and covers items at 60 cents per pound per item — economical, but limited. Full Value Protection is a paid upgrade under which the carrier is liable for the replacement value of lost or damaged items. Your coordinator can explain both so you choose the right level.

If an item is lost or damaged, you file a claim with the carrier, and the payout is based on the coverage level you selected. Your coordinator can walk you through the claim process and help you get it submitted.

Packing & Storage

Packing, Storage & Specialty Items FAQs

Options for packing help, storage gaps, and delicate belongings.

Both. You can have the team pack your whole home, just the fragile and high-value items, or provide materials so you can pack yourself. Packing is fully customizable to your budget and timeline.

Yes. Short-term storage is available if there’s a gap between your move-out and move-in dates. Ask your coordinator to build storage into your quote so your belongings are held securely until you’re ready.

Fragile and high-value pieces — artwork, glass, electronics, antiques — are wrapped and padded, and custom crating is available for items that need extra protection on a long haul. Let your coordinator know so the right materials are on hand.

Vehicle Shipping

Auto Transport FAQs

Shipping a car alongside your household move.

Yes. We coordinate auto transport alongside your household move so your vehicle arrives close to the same time you do — handy on long-distance routes where you’d rather not drive.

Open transport is the standard, most economical option, where your car ships on an open carrier. Enclosed transport is a premium option that fully encloses the vehicle — recommended for luxury, classic, or high-value cars. Your coordinator can quote both.

Cost and timing depend on the route and vehicle. As a general guide, open transport often runs a few hundred to around $1,500 and enclosed transport more, with transit typically 4–10 days depending on distance. Ask for a quote to get exact numbers for your route.

Scheduling

Booking, Scheduling & Delivery FAQs

How to book, change dates, and understand delivery windows.

Start with a free quote online or by phone at (833) 627-1754. Once you’re happy with the estimate, your coordinator confirms your dates, paperwork, and details to lock in the booking.

In most cases, yes — contact your coordinator as early as possible and we’ll do our best to adjust your pickup around carrier availability. Earlier notice gives you the most flexibility, especially during peak season.

On long-distance and consolidated moves, carriers provide a delivery window rather than a single guaranteed day, because routing and other stops affect timing. Your coordinator gives you a realistic window up front and keeps you updated as delivery approaches.

Depending on the route and timing, expedited or dedicated-truck options may be available for a tighter delivery window. Let your coordinator know your deadline and we’ll tell you what’s possible for your move.
